Published! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Oh my --- I should check the source of my photos before I post them! That photo of the quilt on the runway? According to M in a conversation later in the day -- that was the MOST FAMOUS couple in the world at the moment. OH  -- I could sit beside the most popular person in the world on a plane and not even realize. That's how much I don't really care about celebrities. They are people just like us, and really - do they deserve more attention? I don't have time!

Here's a link for the Met Gala ...

Keeping fit - Virtually! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I'm all set -- I finished the Appalachian Trail and confirmed the address for my medal. I started the Pacific Crest Trail. Why not just dive right in? While I will always walk the dogs in the morning, there are some days when I wonder if I need that second walk. But the aggressive goals I've set for the virtual challenges get me off my butt and onto the road.

And here's the thing -- while it's called a Virtual Challenge, I still have to WALK the miles to make that happen. It's not like I just ...

Cleaning up UFOs from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Oh dear -- I got in trouble AGAIN.

I saw my neighbor -you know the one, walking down the street towards me as I walked home with Murphy. I decided to say "Good morning" as I do to so many people that I pass along the street. HEY -- for some people, it might be the only interaction with someone else during the day. And it's fun as we've got to "know" others in the neighborhood.

I must admit that I said "good morning" rather enthusiastically to her as we passed, and I did add on "neighbor", as the last ...

Zoom sewing is the BEST from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

OH --- I LOVE Terri's idea about the shoebox. I intended to take the images of quilting designs and patterns and put them in an inspiration book. She says that doesn't work for her. Instead, she keeps ONE small box with loose pages from magazines, etc. Periodically she goes through and cleans up. Hmm -- that might work. I need to empty a box to try that out!

That method will be faster  -- I like that idea! Thanks, Terri. I love that we can all learn from each other. I'll see how the day goes, but I might have ...

THE double wedding ring quilt from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Oh gosh -- while I was out walking Murphy, I remembered my other thought! When I returned from the gym, I drove past Tim's, as I always do. And I didn't give it one thought of stopping in to get breakfast like I would have in the past. I haven't been in quite a while and would certainly not classify myself as a regular any longer. Amazing how quickly I gained that habit and amazing how long it took to break it!

It's not tea weather right now anyway!!!  September is coming.

It's amazing what you ...

Living like a monk is a good thing! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Oh my -- there needs to be a handbook for new homeowners. Some people have bought homes with things that they really don't know much about, or it might be their first home and no clue. The item in question is the sprinkler system. I'm not an expert on the subject, but I do know that you shouldn't water your lawn every day, and it's best to water it really early in the morning or late at night. Why? Well, there's less evaporation if you water in the late evening or early morning, and the darn ...

Play ball with ME from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

The spin class went well! There were no issues with the knee, so that was good, and no swelling at the end, so that's even better. I'm going to have to move indoors for the walking as it would appear all that concrete isn't doing my knee any favors!

A good number of the regulars were in the class, and our favorite instructor - Joseph! A big round of applause ended the class - I think everyone was excited to be back. It was hard to get going, but I ended up doing 27 KM, where I would normally ...

Signature quilts from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I smell a skunk! I think someone got hit this morning. Thankfully both girls are in the house as I'm not sure either of them would be smart enough to run!

So there's good news and bad news today. The good news is this.

An empty design wall

Yep - that's where the Long Time Gone quilt was. And I'm happy to report that it's all in one piece! Yahoo!!!! I'm pretty excited. No, actually, it's kind of anti-climatic. I'm just relieved that it's together. I have one more thing to do ...

Where did that deadline come from? from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

So I was tidying up the Current Projects table a couple of days ago, and OH MY - what's this? Why that's the Trendtex Challenge for the upcoming Canadian Quilter's Association virtual quilt show in June. Hmm - what's the deadline? OH -- for the quilts to be part of the judging process, they need to be received by April 5. OH!

Well, that's doable! When I first received the kit months ago, an idea had popped into my head, and no better idea came along. So I decided to go for it. Normally, I try to do ...

Color challenge from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I'm a bit out of sorts this morning. I have only one photo to share with you. Well, that's not entirely true - I have two of them (actually, there are four!). Yet, I took a ton of photos yesterday, but it was to share with the Tula Pink 100 Modern Quilt Blocks class last night, and the others were for our Long Time Gone class this morning.

Oh my -- I'm loving the Tula Pink quilt. I wasn't sure how I would proceed - I knew which quilt I wanted to make, but how to go about it ...

Check and check from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Every once in a while, you have a day that you don't want to repeat. Yesterday was such a day. Oh - don't get me wrong, things got done, and I could check them off my list. It was just a wee bit too tight on the timing, is all.

I'm happy to report the magazine quilt is gone! I should have taken a picture of it sitting on the doorstep. I had to babysit it while it got quilted. Well, that's not really true. There were many threads on the top, so I was cutting threads ...

On a new adventure from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

So today, well, actually yesterday, starts a new Virtual Adventure. I was excited and set up the start date as yesterday.

Wait a minute - let me backtrack here. I had NOT bought anything as part of Black Friday. I don't need a thing. Not even in the quilting world. Although I did check out a couple of websites, nothing piqued my interest. How could it when there's so much already sitting in Studio B waiting for its turn to hit the sewing machine? Oh - you don't even know half of what's down there. And let's ...
